Never Jumped
Day One
Shark Bytes
Jumped when Hanson stole Keith Richard's entire persona and made some kind of pirate movie and when I saw Penhall in a dog food commercial.
I liked the whole season but was very upset the way it ended it didn't seem right it should have been done better. And second supposedly there was sopposed to be a movie made of but never heard anything more of it. And another thing Hanson and Penhall were hotties but I think H.T. Ioki was a hottie too..
First of all, to the poster on page 4 who states that the name of the episode where Hansen's girlfriend is killed is titled, "Oedipus 2.1" -- um, no. It's "Orpheus 3.3" just to clear that up.
Second: shark jumped when the beautiful Johnny left. End of discusssion.
Third: Grieco had his moments -- the first episode of the fourth season when he gets Hansen out of prison on false pretenses and then meet up with Penhall -- classic. They should have kept him on JS & not given him his own series, knowing Depp was on his way out. He & Penhall might have made an interesting partnership.

I have to say that I was so excited when 21 Jumpstreet started coming back on where I live (houston), b/c I remember watching it with my mom when I was little. I don't really care for the episodes when Hanson's not in them. The whole thing is just a huge dose of nostalgia for me. And now I have my kids watching and dancing to the theme song.
considering that half of the people commenting are all pinheads.... i think that the show started to suck when (obviously) johnny depp left.. you could tell he didnt want to be there, and when 21JS first got cancelled at the end of season 4, he was out of there fast! 21JS wasnt that bad in season 5.. but then it plumeted down when doug penhall left.. he was sexy as.. him and hanson were the main attractions of the show. A lot of people are commenting on richard grieco's(bokker)performance, saying he is really bad, blah blah blah, i didnt think he was that bad-he was full of himself-sure, but he was hot as, it was also very enjoyable to watch booker and hanson going at it. one more thing.. joey-introduced in early season 5, he is a total spunk... well he was, now there all old and less appealing-accept johnny depp, does this guy age???
The show WAS ABOUT HANSON. It started with Hanson joining Jumpstreet so naturally most of the stories invlved him.
Season one was hit or miss. Season 2 and 3, by adding Captain Fuller and exploring Hanson's character was interesting.
Yes the writers did change and you saw the quality of stories go down hill. Depp did not break his contract. In fact, in the second episode of season 4, just after prison, Hanson mentions to Penhall that he is thinking of quitting the Department.
The show REALLY jumped the shark when Depp left but I think it jumped when Penhall and Hanson went to Central America....that plot line just made no sense.
The McQuaid Brothers were great.
Booker should have been in one episode then off the show.
Hanson's Mustang was super sweet and his girlfriend Jackie was hot as hell.
Some very good episodes. Deliuse and Depp played off each other well. You could already see by season 2 that Depp was going on to bigger things.
Too bad it fell apart the way it did. It deserved a better ending

I enjoyed 21 jump street all the way through the last season. In my opinion, watching season 5 and season 1 the same week as a comparison... season 5 had much more interesting plots. To ME, Holly Robinson is the heart of 21 jump street. I was very happy to see her finally getting a chance to have fun with her character in the later seasons... after Johnny Depp was finally on his way out, and done stealing all of the screen time. Just compare, seriously.... Holly Robinson's over the top, great one-liners deserve more recognition.
It was good because you cared about the people.
When Tom talked about his dads death while on duty.
Judys rape
are among the best episodes.

21 Jumpstreet died for two reasons: Johnny Depp left, and the following characters kept changing. You'd get attached to the new character, and then they'd be gone, without a trace or explanation, 2 episodes later.
Kids are pretty stupid, and I actually remember liking Booker at the time and thinking that he was cute. In retrospect, Richard Grieco just wasn't as good of an actor as Johnny Depp (which I know is like saying that Jessica Simpson isn't as good of an actress as Dame Judi Dench), and he wasn't able to lend anything to the sterotypical, "bad boy" cheesiness of Booker the way that Johnny Depp was able to with Hanson.
In the beginning, Hanson was a clean cut undercover cop working the high school beat. After his popularity grow, then came the motor cycle, the wiped jeans, the grunge hair, the poker faced burnt out cop, look. It went from an ensemble cast to the Adventures of Hanson. All of the other characters had fewer lines and JD was the featured star just like Don Johnson's, Sonny Crockett, on Miami Vice. It always ruins a quality show when one character is shoved down our throats.
