When I realized that one episode was ONE HOUR IN ONE DAY, that was IT for me. I tried several times. Nada.
This show jumped when Jack Bauer revealed to David that he was a vampire...

Another episode that sucked was the one when Jack Bauer was in the KKK and Matthew Mconaughy was a lawyer..I believe that Samuel L. Jackson was in jail in that episode and Sandra Bullock was also there...
This is a great show, but just how far into the future is this series supposed to be set? That a virile, 40-something African-American man could be elected president in 2003 is not an accurate reflection of our contemporary society.

Have you heard of Barack Obama? I gotta say Kiefer Sutherland can deny it all he likes but I wonder if our new President was elected because of David Palmer and Dennis Haysbert's portrayal of the character at all. I know after watching 24 I would vote for a black President.
I'll have to agree with TonyAlmeada- to a point. The first half hour of 24:Redemption nearly put me to sleep. But once it got rolling, it sets the rest of the season up nicely. (The presidents' son better watch his back.)
Can't wait to see Jack Bauer on trial. How hypocritical it is of the government to (make, ask) Jack to do their dirty work and then try to punish him for it later. I do think this will make for a good season, though.
To sum up Jack's methods, I think back to what George Mason said about him in Season 2 (I'm paraphrasing here): "He's crazy, but he gets results."
Get ready.
For some the show has never jumped. Here's the reasons where I say it would have jumped.

Jack's brother and dad are behind the terrorism

3 pm (Teri gets amnesia)

Jack never eats, sleeps, rests, drinks or relieves himself

Year Four 12pm (CTU infiltrated...again)

Year Three 2pm (CTU infiltrated...again)

Implausibility

Year Six 11 am (Family Affair)

Justification of torture

Jack kills 10 armed terrorists ... with a pistol

Year 2: Jack dies, then is brought back to life

Jack runs through corrosive nerve gas unharmed

CTU repeatedly infiltrated

Bombs, destruction don't cause public panic

Year Four 10 am (Jack robs a convenience store)

That's a lot of reasons, for me, why the show had jumped. Some think it never has...I'm the same with Kim Possible, there are jump worthy things but they had never put me off the show. The amneisa angle for 24 would be the big one but they were able to jump back from that, however I'm going to go and vote justification for torture, because season 4 did it for me.
how is this on the never jumped list when there are more votes saying it did? honeslty, i say that it jumped simply for that fact that its still on the air
A lot of people think 24 jumped when Teri had amneisa. I'd have to agree with that, but when this plot was dropped it was as if the Fonz went back and jumped the shark again, the show picked up well after that. I would say the show jumped in season 4 when CTU began the routine use of torture, and to top it off the two people I have seen them torture were innocent or they couldn't get information from. It was a wonder they didn't even die or try and kill themselves. At the very least CTU would have had their ass sued...wait, didn't Sarah try and seek compensation? And Michelle fired her for it. Fiesty Gourmet is right, most of the characters are horrid, and even if it did set up CTU being disbanded that's it for me, I've stopped watching the show at that point. I will watch Redemption though, and think the seventh season would be worth watching as well.
For the 2 hour movie, best advice-skip the first hour and 50 minutes and you'll see a great episode! What a waste of time showing needless liberal guilt-inducing third world garbage! I havet seen so much emphasis of white American imperialism since the last African crapisode of ER! Stop being Stranded in the Jungle, Jack- meanwhile, back in the states, ohh, oh ugh ohh oh ugh!
The Staff of JTS writes comments and erases others. The one Below was written by a staff member. They have deleted all attempts my friends and I have made to leave anything negative about the Redemption Movie, and this post will almost immediately be deleted. WATCH.
Is it me, or did the "Redemption" movie seem like "Hotel Rwanda", only with more Violence & a scene of the president being sworn in?
I was actually pretty drunk last night, but from what i do remember is that the opening scenes were straight up rip-offs from shows like Lost (second season) and other movies depicting the same war-time African scenarios involving young children forced into war. The only other thing I can remember is a nice long boring scene where the president and female president-elect yack on and on. Dissapoiting.....I Don't see (after seeing all previous seasons) How this show has much life left.
Welcome Back, Jack! "Redemption" Almost completely made up for a lousy Season 2 Years Ago...Almost. It still has a lot of ground to pick up, but it's on the right track with the movie last night.
This show was interesting to watch for a season or two, but is is inane overall. Sure, there is nonstop action, but most of it is completely unbelievable and what this show lacks in substance it does not make up for in style. In fact, there is literally so much action that it becomes boring. Perhaps this is the modern day superhero genre, but I think they need to back off of Jack's ability to defy the laws of physics (and time) and be everywhere at the same time. The show would be better if it had more respect for its audience.
I believe that this show jumped during the season when that ended with the President being arrested. That was a really boring season in opinion that gave us Leland Palmer from "Twin Peaks" as the vice president and Mikey from "The Goonies" at CTU...However....last season...with James Cromwell as Jack's terrorist father was SO BAD that you could almost hear people changing their channels all across the country...I could care less about the new show Sunday night...TV land is playing "Superman - The Movie"...I think that I will watch that instead..
Here's where Jack left off: He was at Secretary Heller's house after just leaving Audrey's side, contemplating jumping off of the cliff. Sunday, he'll be in Africa. Can't wait for redemption.
