NBC really did it again. The Black Donnellys was one of the best network dramas I had seen in my 62 years. And they dropped it in midseason - what a bunch of cretins (that's scumbags to you NBC people)! Now it appears that Journeyman has been cancelled as well - at least it is not on the schedule anywhere. Will they ever get anything right?
Best show since Sopranos. Actually had more potential than Sopranos, but it was hand-cuffed by being on network TV.

Way to drop the ball NBC. I'm no TV exec, but I know that if this show was marketed properly, it would have been huge. I found out about it after it was cancelled. I saw one episode and immediately went out and bought the DVD series.

Cancelling shows like T.B.D. is the reason network TV has become absolute crap.
This show was highly entertaining! It is 'fiction' though there are many kids out there who are still living like this. It stresses the brotherhood that comes together in tight neighborhoods, where the bad influences can easily take over your life. Great writing & believable characters are rare on television. We should be boycotting the crap that replaced it!
What a stupid and completely pointless show. I'm so sick of seeing idiot people get themselves into trouble, fighting and killing over property/territory they don't own. I'm especially disappointed that I'm expected to care about a bunch of criminals that have no redeeming qualities. As a society, we really need to get over our romanticism of mobs, mobsters, organized crime, etc, etc.

I know it makes for good drama, but people have the ability to make choices and maybe I'm just tired of watching characters make the bad ones because they're too ignorant to do otherwise. Yes, I know it's fiction.

What a complete waste of time...and probably even more so on my part knowing that I'll be flamed for putting my foot down against shows that can only really be resolved by killing off all of the characters. Anyway, this show jumped the moment it went on the air. I might even rate "The Nine" higher than this waste of time....and that makes my skin crawl.
I was blown away by how good this show was. I immediately got hooked, and watched all of the episodes online. Of course NBC did such a lousy job of marketing this show, I didn't even hear about it until it was off the air. It is mind-boggling how they can allow such garbage to remain while getting rid of such an exciting, suspenseful, and intelligent drama. I have never done this before in my life, but I actually wrote to F/X, SHO, and HBO pleading with them to pick up this series somehow. It just doesn't make sense to cancel this show, but the longer they are not working, the more likely the show's stars will move to other projects and it will be completely dead. What a shame.
One of the best lines came from that show: "People think that Irish people just want to get drunk and fight, and hearing those kinds of things make you just want to get drunk and fight."
NBC cancels TBD's , yet reairs crappy episodes of America's Got talent and the Most Outrageous Moments. Talk about an outrage.
This is an outstanding show. I'm very disappointed that it didn't even finish the season on the air. Something that appeals to me for some wierd reason is the lack of swearing (since it's on network TV of course). The show is far more subtle and complex than most criminal dramas.

"That's the Donnelys. Never able to leave the neighborhood."
I just discovered this show, and it is the best thing I've seen on a "network" in a very long time. Too bad I had to watch it all online, because I never knew about it. It amazes me the garbage they actually promote, and the gems that get canceled. This show is great, and would be more realistic on FX or SHO anyway. I just hope someone picks it up. All over the web; here, the NBC boards, etc., people are speaking up. If the DVD orders are there, it'll be back...just like Family Guy. I hope they pay attention to the number of people that watch the stream on NBC.com. They wouldn't make new ones just for the web though....unfortunately.
I am so bored of TV lately. I was really glad something finally came on that I can sink my teeth into.

We can cry all we want, but if the guys running things don't want to keep the show, they won't, no matter what we say here.

I really hope they do change their minds though. Maybe one of the cable channels will pick it up.

There was no "jump the shark" moment during any point of the show.
I think The Black Donnellys was one of the best TV shows ever made...it should be picked up by HBO cuz then it'd get away w/ everything NBC though was too "hardcore" ya know?
I was really upset when I realized the black donnellys was cancelled. I watched the show faithfully on TV & online. It is a really great show.
Brilliant show.
Moronic network executives.

Never a good mix.
NBC needs to cancel a few of the shows that actually suck, like I don't know america's got talent, maybe a few of the 13 'different' law and order shows, and bring The Black Donnellys back!
The Black Donnellys is an amazing show. I say 'is' instead of 'was' because I am still hoping some other network besides Nothing But Crap will recognize this and pick it up for a second season.
