Jim jumping into a dead mans body and her dating him... think that's jumping the shark at its finest!!!!
What the heck!?!?! I loved this show - note, PAST tense. First Andrea died. Really ticked me off because she was such a likable character. Now Jim? He was Melinda's rock. Bad, bad, bad decision.
Unless this show pulls a Dallas VERY QUICKLY and pretends that the Jim death plotline was "just a dream," this show won't be back next season.
Watching GW was always a guilty pleasure. JLH is fun to watch. I hated to see Andrea leave (from GW and CSI both) but I accepted the fact that her car ran into a plane and moved on. JLH and Jay Mohr played off well against each other. I accepted the fact that this intelligent man had an immaginary wife and that his future would be on another soon to be cancelled show and moved on. I liked Thomas Wilson's character but accepted the fact that his here, gone, and back again character was removed before he could be killed off (maybe he was, I did missed a few episodes) and moved on. Then Jim's character was killed off and...nah! this time I'll just move on..way far away where this show can't find me. CSI gets away with killing off its more interesting characters due to the shows strong fan base. GW will not be as fortunate and that is a shame for this once enjoyable program.
Credibility for GW has been folded, spindled, and mutilated.

I like her boobs, always have. They are nice. Yes, they are. Characters may come and go but as long as boobs keep hanging out, so will I! Boobs rule, doodz. More boobs pleeeez???
Killing off Jim was bad enough. But then reincarnating him into Sam's body made the show go off the deep end. Did the producers steal that idea from the movie, Ghost, where Sam (what a coincidence) borrows Ida's body for a short time. I still watch the show, but I doubt if it will be back next year.
Jennifer hewitt is a producer of the show. She finds herself attractive. Things that happen are not the writers' fault, they are her decisions.
She got rid of her beautiful, talented, funny, side-kick last year/year before, replacing her with a fatty. Sadly for the fatty, the fatty is losing weight, and therefore, will be replaced by a complete ugly (which can't be fixed with exercise and diet).
She is getting rid of her nice husband (slowly) so that if the show survives, she will be able to be the sad, brooding super-actress she wants us to think she is. She will eventually, after completely writing out her dead husband from the show, go from man to man, each with one disappointing character-flaw after another, while the viewer continues to just love her acting to death and hope she finds happiness with someone. The audience will continue to cry for her and root for her and be really sad, until finally everyone else who watches the show will realize she now has the biggest ass in the world and will quit viewing.

I also HATE this story line with Jim jumping into a dead body and remembering things from his past. Killing him off was bad but they could have gone somewhere with it like he tells her about why some ghosts hate her and what does happen when they cross over. He could have been her "link" to the other side.. Jim in another body is just insane! Now the rest of the season will be her and him "connecting" and Sam/Jim not knowing why he has these "feelings" for Melinda. Ok too many words in "s sorry. That new guy who hears the dead is ok but Jay Mohr was WAY better. I am going to watch but I do not have the same love for it any more!
Killing Jim off = shark jumping. I have been watching this show since Episode 1 and I am done. Pissed, but done. You lose, CBS.
And oh yeah, BRING BACK SWINGTOWN! :D

Need a couple more 'Jump the Shark' reasons added to the list:
1. Killing off Jim and the hokey storyline to keep him around.
2. Jamie Kennedy, a VERY poor replacement for Jay Mohr's character. That's one "boob" we could do without.

Melinda's husband Jim was a stable part of her life. She could always talk to him about the ghosts and he believed her without question.
What happened to them trying to have a baby? It's like new writers took over midstream.
Now we have this ridiculous storyline about Jim jumping into another body. A dead body. How is he alive? Just because a spirit entered it does not make a heart pump again. The whole thing is way over my head.
There is no way to recover from this either. He's dead and cannot be brought back.
It feels more like a spooky soap opera now rather than a story about a woman who helps people to cross over.
I really wish the writers hadn't done this.

I dunno... I didn't like the bit with her brother/father and the kids with their symbolic visions.
Seems like they're back to their core theme again.
Switching Neds and losing Jay wasn't good.
How they handle Jim's death will be interesting to see. Could be a jump.

WHO WRITES THIS STUFF? I am getting sick and tired of the violent craziness on this show. People constantly being shot, hanged, drugged, poisoned...and Melinda never even cracks a smile anymore. CBS, if you're reading this: CHANGE THE FORMAT AND BRING JIM BACK.
My family has not watched since the episode in which Jim was shot. We are really disappointed in the storyline. We did not watch the following week, but we did tape the show. After reading comments on this site and CBS's, we didn't watch the tape. We did not even bother to tape last night's episode. I hope when the story is finally told, it'll be "worthwhile." If that's the case, we'll have to see it on re-runs. Right now we are relying on what we learn by the comments on the websites. For me, I don't watch much television. Ghost Whisperer was the only major network show I actually watched. I hope it all resolves soon because the more episodes we miss, the less we miss the show.
