Jumping from guy to guy
Season 7 Premiere
Season 5
The second season

Although I agree there are a few jumps in this show, I really do like it, and I stood by it until the final moment. There are definitely a few points in the show which I don't like and hoped they didn't do. Of course, the must ultimate one is, of course, Lorelai and Christopher's getting together. Season seven was a definite deterioration, but other than that, the show was good. No jumps.
I think this show jumped a few times, actually, but it didn't keep me from watching.
Jump No. 1 -- Rory leaves Dean for Jess.
Jump No. 2 -- Rory leaves for college and cuts her hair. Nothing was the same after that.
Jump No. 3 -- Rory sleeps with Dean. As much as I loved her and Dean, watching Dean and Lindsay break up and then have nothing come of it was lamer than lame.
Jump No. 4 -- Rory meets Logan. Blah! That guy was annoying from day one and caused Jump No. 5 Rory steals a yacht, quits Yale and moves in with the grandparents.
Jump No. 6 -- Luke finds out he's got a daughter. I mean, seriously?
Jump No. 7 -- The ultimate, Lorelai sleeps with Christopher. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Of course, I kept watching to find out what was going to happen, and I have to say that I really miss the rapid dialogue and more fun than fun pop culture references.

I think it jumped in when Jess showed up and him and every other guy her age (with the exception of Dave and the band)seemed have no reason for existing but to fawn at the feet of Rory Gilmore.
And it seemed to be contagious as the men in Lorelai Gilmore's age bracket seemed to start to do the same thing about season 4.

And for all of those out there at say people are not like this, yes they are. Maybe the only people you know have nothing to say, but smart and funny people always have something to comment about.
Dixie is correct--there are plenty of folks like the 2 portrayed on this show. We call them "annoying" and try to avoid them at all costs. We definitely don't waste our time watching them on TV when there are quality shows like "Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp" to view.

Loved the show and Love the re-runs.
I do have to agree on a few things others have posted.
It totally changed when the 1st writers left.
I think most men hated the fast talking (because my husband hated it--LOL)while some women did not seem to mind it.
I also think the actors did not want to continue on with it so it had to end (end in a bad way it did).
Logan, April and Christopher sucked.
Grant Lee Phillips rocked (my hubby's high school friend--WAYYY COOL!)

Okay, this show was great. However the writer/creater/director left becuase of the studio. Thus leading up to the ending of the story lines with crap that seem out of nowhere.
This show was realist. And for all of those out there at say people are not like this, yes they are. Maybe the only people you know have nothing to say, but smart and funny people always have something to comment about. Well dressed, self adjusted and funny that should seem like a simple package. We are just not use to show having charaters with real personalities. It wasn't that I could be friends with these people if they were real, it was that my friends are real people with flaws.
This show jumped because the "creative genius" left. AKA everything else fell apart.

The show jumped when it switched from B&W to color and Barney left to become a detective in Mt. Pilot.
I thought season 6 with Lorelai was the worst. And then the whole Luke/Christopher/Paris mess. Of course, Rory was a total slut throughout.
Come to think of it, all 7 seasons sucked.

Halfway through season 6 with that whole stupidity of Luke having a daughter, then not telling Lorelai, then making this daughter an excuse to postpone the wedding, it was nothing like him. And Lorelai? Getting all mad because Luke had a daughter... Then sleeping with Christopher seconds after having an argument with Luke. This made me hate her and call her a slut. Totally out of character.
Then season 7 was a total disaster. Such a shame, thank God she ended up with Luke, that's the least they could do it, even though in real world, Luke would have to be a moron to take her back.

I agree with everyone who said the show JTS when Luke found out he had a daughter and then didn't tell Lorelai about it. That wasn't like Luke at all. And then Lorelai being self centered about the fact that Luke didn't tell her, that wasn't the Lorelai Gilmore we had seen for 5 seasons. And don't let me get started on the whole Christopher/Paris/marriage thing. While I can watch the first five seasons over and over again, I don't think I've even opened up season 6 and 7. I say it JS halfway through season 6. And that saddens me because this is one of mt favorite shows
I never got this show--2 yentas yammering away at one another constantly. I can't understand how the audience was supposed to believe that ANY guy could stand to be in the same room with either one for more than 30 seconds.
I do agree that they shouldn't have brought Jess back. But his treatment of Rory is realistic of how a lot of young are sometimes treated in relationships. And Dean and Rory really wasn't going to work out.
For all you Jess fans out there, I really believe you are doomed to have failing, miserable relationships. To say he was right for Rory is saying that someone who ditches you twice and treats you like crap is the right person for you. She left the sweet, sensible Dean for a guy that couldn't treat his girlfriend with respect. And when he forced himself on her and basically almost "raped" her at that party... disgusting.
To me, Jess was the reason this show may have jumped.

Seriously I liked this show, but hated Lorelai. Does she ever stop dissing on everything? And a single mom that can afford a house, go out to dinner all the time, expensive coffee, and wear nice clothes? yeah right. Ir also bugs that they are always eating and making fun of people who work out, yet they can stay skinny. No one can eat as much as they do without working out and stay that thin. Not realistic.

My mom's single and we have a nice house, go out to dinner a lot and have nice clothes. Loreli owns a hotel. Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's raking in cash. And seriously, what TV is realistic?
