Okay, so I've been re-watching season three, a season I wrote off as totally worthless. Although there are plenty of plots that ultimately lead nowhere, I do not think Grey's has officially jumped. It has not failed as a drama, a medical show, or a soap opera. If anything, it has only succeeded those first two genres in weight. The drama in season three was almost fantastic. However, now that we are coming up on season five, there are some story lines in this season I feel never rose above. For one, I was reminded in this season of how much I loved Callie and George together. It's as if Shonda Rhimes and co. just tried to make us dislike Callie, always making Izzie bad mouth her and ostracize her. If anything, it made me like Izzie less. Izzie's disdain for Callie, combined with the writers' inexplicable desire to break up the newlyweds lead to the worst romantic pairing thus far: Gizzie. The name alone strikes fear in the heart of fans. No one ever believed Izzie and George were in love. Heck, it even pissed off Heigl (but what doesn't these days?). Next, Meredith's 'death', which spanned three episodes and forced us to watch what felt like a really bad episode of "Touched by an Angel", could have...scratch that-SHOULD HAVE been the catalyst for her character's transformation. I mean, Derek pulled her out of the water...He rescued her, even though she didn't want it. The good that could have come out of her annoying fake death was that she could have awoken a changed woman. It shouldn't have taken her all of another season. Ohhh, and Burke. That was outrageous. He should have never been let go. No one will ever be as good with Christina as he. Let's not forget also: the chief was supposed to resign at the finish of season three. Now, I understand that his resignation would have most likely forced his character into retirement, but what I'm getting at is this: his wife was ready to take him back. Things were peachy...and then, season four begins and they are no more. The two of them should have been able to work something out.
Now here we are. It's season four. There is no Gizzie. Meredith and Derek are most likely back on, and Callie has turned to Erica Hahn for comfort (who, if you ask me, would have been better suited for Christina but I'm still a fan of the two of them). Christina is single at the moment, though I hear that will soon change. Although I detested her presence at the start, Lexie Grey is now one of my favorite characters, because she is such a bright spot. Although I have griped so much about the third season, I still completely love this show. The fourth season felt like the first and second. Here's to the fifth.

to " i love everybody":
"challages you mentally"? LOL that's not even a sentence kid.
go back to middle-school to learn proper english and maybe your lame "OMG you are a freak" comments would work.
oh by the way I dont contribute to the success of the show. I suggest you go back and read my comment maybe your one brain cell would work this time

Personally, I like the show. Always have probably always will. Let's face it, if ER can make it for over a decade we will be seeing Grey's for along time. Does it provide an accurate portrayal of hospital life? No. Is it an entertaining show that you can watch once a week and not have to think to hard about? Yep, and that's why I love it. Oh, and for all those people who say it jumped the shark when it got rid of Isaiah Washington...Face it, there was no way that they were going to keep him after the comments he made. Maybe if he hadn't been notoriously difficult on set Shondra Wilson could have salvaged him. Personally, if they had kept that outspoken bigot, THEN I would say they had jumped the shark.
It sorta jumped at the code black bit with the bomb, which triggered George & Merideth having sex, which bought Callie into it. Then Izzie stopped Denny's heart & Burke got shot, which was a little tacky, but I could live.
After it got it's groove back, they decided to cut Burke! Burke was a fantastic character, even though the actor wasn't (or might not've been). Disaster! And Addison leaves for a crappy spin off! Not to mention when Derek "saves" Merideth. The only good thing that happens is that Sloan stays at SGH.
It fully jumped at season 4 though. You have to admit that the interns are CRAP, go away Lexie. And the Hahn/Callie thing... no, just no. The Rebecca/Ava thing... also no. The George & Izzie screwing up their relationship... VERY NO, they can't even be, best friends anymore. Might I also add Merideth's constant counselling, and Derek's lack of counselling. And Rose.
I'll still watch Greys, but the rumours about season 5 I've heard aren't too appealing. I miss Addison & Burke :[

I'm willing to bet, "Dan", that anything you attempt to read challages you mentally. That should answer your previous question. Why do programs of this caliber continue to succeed? Because of brain dead slugs such as yourself and all the other gray matter pygmes that contribute to this site. Peace Out Freaks!!!!
I don't think it's ever jumped. Even when Meredith died. The stories are sometimes over the top, but i think that's what makes the show great, it's so different from other shows.
First episode...Meredith has a one night stand with Dr. Sheppard who turns out to be her new boss. Episodes two, three, four, etc..."Did she or did she not get her position by sleeping with him?" Oh PLEASE...!!! Well maybe it's not quite accurate to say it jumped Day ONE but that was a quick ride up the ramp.
The show totally jumped when they fired Isaiah Washington. He may be an a-hole in real life...but his character was pretty important to the show. They should have thought about their careers and the future of their show. Maybe they could've duct taped his mouth unless he was reading lines...either way, Grey's is boring now.
This show looks fairly promising. I'm surprised it's not listed yet. Good acting. "Dan" is a fat ass freak. It didn't take long before everyone started sleeping with one another-definitely a plus. "Cheese E. Biscuit" is an idiot and a fuitcake.I worry the lead actress will start to get annoying in an Ally McBeal kind of way. The "PDlover" and "caramel" are morons who take this show way to serious. They both have severe acne on there backs.I will also start to get annoyed if every episode focuses on the conflict of Dr. Grey sleeping with Patrick Dempsey. Also, "plac guy"'s breath stinks like an ashtray filled with molded coffee. Peace out Freaks!!
The Asain Chick looks like a Grey (Alien)
Disgusting just stare at her face ... all she needs are the Grey's Dark Jet Black eyes and presto!; this show will be Sci Fi TV with Grey Aliens in it...'kinda like a silly version of the X-Files.
Boy is her flat Asain face ever ugly.

It tried to be like a soap and failed.
it tried to be a good med show and failed.
tried to be a good drama, also failed.
I'm not sure what the hell are the writers doing, the show is still very popular and amongst the top10 ratings.
I recommen that you watch the spoof that MADtv made about this show, it's hillarious
