In addition to re-writing some original story line concepts (Re; Racheal comments below), they also seem to ignore some factors in the show.
For instance, "has anything ever been mentioned about Didi and Good Hank?
Side comment:, Lucky basically ensures that Luanne has no chance to escape being trailer trash

last sunday king of the hill wuz great just like before.i like it cuz is more realistick then other shows in the sence of good plots and stories.
In regards to Buckley's angel and Luanne: to be fair, he never said she was meant to go to college. All he said was, "you are meant for something else." For all we know, that something else may be having Lucky's child and becoming the mother Luanne herself never had.
Anyway, Lucky doesn't really bother me as much as the complete re-writing of the back story does. Peggy's mother, Luanne's father, the Hills being related to ZZ Top...all these things completely clash with what we've been told before. I'll wait and see if this next season will be any good before I throw in the towel, though.

Koth is really a one of the kind show, jokes aren't as stupid as Beavis and Butthead which i've personally always hated. All the characters are funny in their own way : Hank getting uncomfortable, Peggy thinking she's a genius, Luanne being stupid and Bobby's weird hobbies, and they appear way more real and close to actual life than in other shows like the Simpsons. I guess that's what i like the most about it. But Yup definately one of the best American shows ever, I hope they still produce new episodes in 20 years ! I've come to realize i'm kinda attached to these characters
It seems that the writers for KoTH have caught the same disease the Simpsons writers have...the one that makes them no longer care about canon anymore, or care about the show and its fans anymore.
We finally got to see Luanne's dad. Hank says it was nice to finally meet him...even though he'd met him before in the earlier seasons. As one mentioned before me, Luanne was destined for something more....but the message from Buckley's angel was no match for Lucky. Peggy drugs Hank with testosterone when she accuses him of having some disorder (AWFUL episode!), they kill off Cotton in the stupidest way possible, Luanne goes from being dippy to being an inbred moron, and we're seeing a lot of deus ex machina endings. The plots have gone from realistic (more realistic than the Simpsons, for God's sake!), to being utterly ridiculous.
Wait a minute...that sounds the same way the Simpsons went...they didn't catch the disease from the Simpsons writers, the Simpsons writers are influencing King of the Hill's writers! Either good cartoons are forced to go bad, or we're blessed with cartoons which are terrible from the start. I guess this is the end of primetime cartoons as we know it. :,(

Luanne getting pregnant by Lucky was(in my opinion) a pathetic excuse for a storyline. Pretty much anything involving Lucky is a very undeveloped story plot. Why did Luanne have to end up with him? In the episode "Return of the Dope" Buckley's angel told her that she was meant for something else, which led her to go to community college, so if she was just going to end up with Lucky... what was the point? The whole Lucky/Luanne plot ruins it for me.
I don't like that they killed off Cotton either. That was completely random and at the end of the episode I was wondering if they told Bobby what happened. There were a few loop holes. Plus that's pretty unimaginative. Like the writers sat around for four hours and were like, "....hmm... ohkay, uhm... someone could die? ...yeah! Uhm... Cotton! Ohkay let's call it a day."
I think they put more thought into where they're going to eat after writing the new episodes, than the actual plots.
I still watch it and I still love it and have seasons 1-6 on DVD... but the new ones aren't as good. Some episodes have a glimmer of what used to be, but sadly they are few and far between.

KOTH is still a great show. Entertaining, yet not above the top.
Peggy has grown to be a bit on the annoying side though.
Luann getting preggers by lucky just doesnt seem to be developing as a story line, except for Lucky being a dull character.

This show has never jumped, sure Lucky is a bit annoying, but it's not like he's become Urkel and taken over the show. This is by far the best and most underrated shows on TV.
King of the Hill WAS good until Lucky became a regular character. He just makes Luanne look more like trailor trash. I cannot stand any episodes that have Lucky in it for the majority of the time. I also HATE peggy. I can't watch any episodes when she is the focus. The only episode I liked that evolved around Peggy was the one when she sky dived and her parachute didn't open. she had to be treated like a baby, it was priceless
Mike, if hanging around geeks who love cartoons is so annoying, don't. Why not take up something else while they watch their shows?
["Jumped day one..
There is nothing more annoying than being around a bunch of geeks that want to watch cartoons on Fox all night long on Sunday..."]
This guy Mike has the same comment on every Sunday night animated show board.
And yet he calls us geeks!
