Boy, I don't rememeber if I even watched this show.
JMV was probably fired because he became a massive alchoholic. I don't mean just big alchoholic. He ended up living on the streets and looked like a 60 year old homeless man. He was homeless. That's really bad, but that's what happened.

This show had an awesome synth theme tune, even better than night rider's.
I hated it when string would sit by the lake playing his cello for the neibourhood eagle, i Kinda hoped bognine would smash him over the head with it.

airwolf is the best and the only reason i think season 4 they had bad writers that just did not think of good stories . But if they do remake the film they should enclude some of the old actors if possible as they where better than todays actors the kids would love that as well as the growen ups
no offence to paul capps..but u must have had a crap childhood to worry about people past action programs...airwolf is my all time favourite...i love it..and yes most of us dream to be in the wolf like you treckies..Airwolf, Knight Rider and Quantum Leap were the best in my eyes.
Season 4 was a flop...why ruin the other seasons.
I own all 3 seasons of airwolf on dvd. Not looking foward to buy the 4th..but hey ive got to. Match others..cant believe they even thought of that pathetic season..anyway im not on here to talk about season 4 as season 1 - 3 were the best. I hope to god they never release anymore Airwolf as the 80's were the best..They are trying and will relive Knight Rider for the new generation...COME ON. It's not gonna work.Is it guys? AIRWOLF rules and QUANTUM LEAP AND KNIGHT RIDER...Mainly Airwolf...

"Moffats Ghost" was, for me, the final episode of the Bellasario era, anything beyond that wasnt Airwolf except for the hideously underrated "Blackjack" and "Stavograd"
"Moffats Ghost" provided excellent closure for the series and realaized Airwolf's inevitable danger. When you turn the HELICOPTER EVIL, that's when it needs to be destroyed, the very ending of the episode with the logic bomb implied to still be present was what conveyed that message, a secret clue to the viewer that whatever came next simply would never logically happe n in light of Airwolf's actions.
Watch the series for seasons one and two, pretend nothing in between "Moffats Ghost" and "Blackjack" happened.

As with so many shows, "Airwolf" jumped the shark when the unattainable goal was attained (see David and Maddie, "Moonlighting"). As soon as St. John Hawk was found, for real, the show lost it's driving force. After that, it was a passable action show, but with a smaller budget and paler characters.
To the above comment that the fighting scenes got shorter, they did. In 1985 Jan Michael Vincent's stunt double was killed in a helicopter crash. It was after that that they began to tone down the helicopter scenes (from imdb.com). The show was cheesy, but still good. Even now. I own the first 3 seasons, no plans on owning the 4th.The show was good in it's day. I think that they need to bring back shows like this (not exactly another Airwolf), but action shows. I can only take so many crime dramas. Too much of CSI and Law and Order. We need shows like Airwolf, Kinght Rider, The A Team, classic action shows. Television now, with the exception of a couple of shows, is dead.
The first season (which I have on DVD) rocks. In the second season the NETWORK told the producers they wanted less espionage and more 'American-bound' shows. From then on it became the A-Team in the air. Airwolf was a perfect example of why network suits should never be allowed imput on a tv show, they ruined it.
On the other hand Airwolf had a built-in problem: Jan Michael Vincent. First, he was mis-cast. He never convinced me he was old enough to have been in Vietnam. He looked like he was fresh back from the Prom. His being a terrible actor didn't help either. Thank God for the helicopter.

I've been a fan of this show since back in the day when it was new, and I've recently been re-watching it. Despite the fact that yes, it asks the viewer to suspend quite a bit of disbelief (hey, who cares, it was fun) from the get-go, I felt a keen sense of JTS from the beginning of the 2nd season (sorry Caitlin!). That being said, there WERE some good episodes in the 2nd season, but the show defintely sailed over that dorsal fin at the end of the 2nd season when Marella was mysteriously reassigned. Boohiss! Just because I'm a fan, I've preordered the 3rd season, but I'm almost dreading the ultimate JTS moment--at the beginning of season 4 when Jo and Saint John take over and Dom and String get the axe. =P
I cant believe what I am reading here, this was a TV programee not real life. You guys really do need to get a life. This was aimed for children in the 80's not you people trying to relive your past.
I think the show first JTS with "The Ghost of Moffett" I still liked the show up until they decided to kill of the original cast and replace them. It reminded me of what they did to the A-team. Lets remember why they had the helocopter in the first place. They STOLE it back but didn't give it to them. Just like the A-team they helped but on their own terms, then they find the brother and basically hand the helocopter back and the cast they got should get their money back for the acting classes they took cause they stunk.
