Omg Tyra is so anyoying! I used to like top model but its gotten really anyoying because they're picking people to win beccause they're plus size or a racial minority or something. Its so stupid. Plus, paulina poriscova is SO STUPID! I hope she and tyra can go die in a hole in the rain with no friends because they need to learn how to treat the models fairly and have some compassion! They totally got mad at marjorie for DOING WHAT THEY SAID.And they act like they're so high and mighty but really they are just anyoying.

Oh, and one more thing that ALWAYS bugged me about this show.

Why is it that if the winners are supposedly "top models", they are NEVER seen again, save for a Cover Girl ad that pops up a few times after the cycle ends, plastered with "America's Next Top Model winner! Congratulations!"??

I know that some of the runners-up have continued modeling quietly, but not many of the winners are really ever heard from again.

The Australian version of this show and some of the European versions have had some successful winners who end up becoming international superstars of the modeling industry, but the American one has just become so gimmicky -- the winners seem to fade from viewers' memories as more tacky reality shows stack up.

I'm gonna have to agree with other people who posted before me regarding the subject of "rigged" winners. It just started to seem like after a few seasons, the totally wrong people would take the title simply because of "inspirational stories" or whatever.

For a while, it was like the winners would alternate between white and black girls, and then there was Jaslene who had tried out the cycle prior and hadn't made it into the finals. Please. She had some good photos, but she was GROSSLY skinny and way over-the-top obnoxious. Don't even get me STARTED on Whitney, she was just awful...

I'm amazed that Isis (the transgender contestant on the most recent season) didn't somehow scrape by until the end to be crowned ANTM simply because she was of a minority group that has not yet been seen on Top Model. I guess it was pretty hard for the judges to pretend that she was doing well when her pictures were just terrible.

It jumped this season with all those cheesy special effect scenes they did. Was a super galatic model labratory really needed?

Jade Cole "The undiscovered supermodel" is the reason why I watch ANTM. She was amazing. I hated her so much, but in retrospect, I loved her too.

Winners that annoy me:
- Jaslene. She has the thickest most obnoxious accent. And yet they ride Danielle about her thick southern accent? Please! I'd rather hear Danielle talk, than Jaslene!
- Whitney. Fake fake fake. Her "My life as a covergirl" commercials are AWFUL! She's a model? I don't think so.
- Nicole. Bland. How did she win again?
- Saleisha. Bland. Unexceptional.

ANTM has been a complete joke since cycle 9 when mushroom-headed Saleisha won, despite her prior involvement with Tyra Banks. That was clearly a set up win that you could see episodes before it happened - the way the judges and photographers treated Saleisha like a queen, dissing heavily on the other contestants, was more then all I could stand.

Then cycle 10 emerged and while hopelessly boring - and the girls looked like carbon copies of girls from previous cycles - I thought Anya was the tried and true winner of the bunch...until ultra plus size Whitney took the prize, clearly another Tyra plot to make sure certain people win during certain cycles. It started clearly from cycle 3 on...a black girl finally won, then in cycle 4 a mixed ethnic girl, then 5 back to basics with a white girl winning, then 6 was a black girl again, 7 was the first blonde, 8 was the first latina - you get the drift.

I stopped watching after cycle 10 - my interest in the show had completely waned and I no longer gave a rat's ass about it, or about Tyra - who I feel also has lost interest in the show and now just spends her money wrongly.

In the beginning cycles, Tyra was so involved with the show and the girls, and it was fun to watch. But around cycle 8, you could see her clearly distancing herself because suddenly she had a daytime talk show to concern herself with and Top Model no longer mattered to her.

It's kind of sad because the theme of the show was a good one...but when none of the girls amounted to anything afterwards, it just became yet another reality fraud.

Enough, Tyra. End it already. Put it out of its misery.

I think that it jumped the shark when Janice left. There were still some good episodes, and great models to be seen, but the show as a whole failed without her.

Last season was ridiculous. They let that transvestite Dominique get to the final four. Come the hell ON! She looked like a trailer park hooker at panel every night. I get the "a little ugly makes a lot of pretty" thing, but Dominique was all ugly in her face, fashion sense, and attitude.

Yes I'm watching this season. The alien/space theme that they did for the first episode is just... wow. I wanted to laugh, but it was horrifying.

I am all for the ability for TG/TV etc people to get their fair opportunity at jobs, etc., but having him on a show for female models is a pure and simple ratings grab. It's even worse than the conflict they introduce each year with the models with little talent but lots of attitude.

He won't win, and if he does, its as rigged as the scores from the East German figure skating judges.

All I can say is: bring on the nude photoshoot.

this 11th season is ridiculous. this is a female model show. you have a male in the show. he was born a male and has a penis.
you allow this to happen on the show and young girls watch it. what is wrong with all of you. is this another shock show. why would you allow this. the girls on the show do not agree with this why put them thru this. if this young man wants to be a women, then let him get the surgery and be happy. but he will always be a male and that will never change. this is not fair to the other women who want so bad to win. remember tyra this is americas top model which for the past 11 times it has always been young women. do not make the show freaky, or people will stop watching it. i cannot believe that you would do this for attention. it was a poor decission on your part. young girls watch and learn from the show, they do not want to hear or parents want them to hear how this man tapes his penis so he can wear a bathing suit. you are making these shows worse.

I think this show was always bad, but when it was really obvious that the girls weren't even competing to be real "Top Models" anymore is when they let two very overweight / "Plus Size models" in the competition. They may have been attractive, but what a farce. Just a season or two before, there was a girl with a little bit of a tummy and they made her dress up in an elephant suit for one of the shoots, and Tyra kept picking on her. Then they suddenly have these two chunky women competing on another season, and because they are both pretty much severely overweight to the point that they can't really change it, Tyra suddenly is all about embracing it, and ignoring the fact that they are obese. Give me a break!

The judges are annoying as ****, especially Tyra. Now, we all know this show is a lame excuse to preserve Tyra's TV presence, but they don't even judge modeling, for Christ's sake. They're always like "You don't have the right PERSONALITY..." and stuff like that. I remember in the last cycle, some girl got cut because Tyra said she looked pretty and she didn't say "Thanks Tyra!!! WHAT AN HONOR!!"

Stick to modelling. And by the way, Cycle 8 is lame because Renee was totally pretty, but also the best model. She was elegant and produced multiple looks. Choosing that ugly transvestite anorexic Jaslene was really obnoxious.

But yeah mostly Tyra needs to stop being a nun and lecturing girls on their morals and all that. She's so conceited, you know, she's always like "This week's photo shoot reminded me of this one time, when I was in Paris with blah blah..." Take the spotlight off yourself for one second, girlfriend, sheesh.

The show jumped the shark when Nicole won. Nik was high-fashion,exotic, had a great portfolio and was a great covergirl. Nicole was bland and the biggest brat ever!
Anya and Heather should have won their cycles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, of course Top Model is rigged, at least when it comes to the top few finalists each season. The show gets loads of fan mail, imploring producers and judges to ensure that many different cultural backrounds and body types are represented and have a genuine chance at winning. So viewers often have favorite choices for Top Model, and their hopes rise as the season progresses. They want their one special role model to 'realize her goals and dreams'! If models didn't have a shot at winning just because they couldn't fit into a size four- imagine the backlash from recovering anoretics and from anyone who advocates for young women in America today. As long as the winners are congenial, well-spoken, and know how to work within their varied body types to create exciting and credible photos and runway shows- they deserve an equal chance to become America's Next Top Model!

It was very sad watching a true top model like beautiful Anya, lose to a fat tubby like Whitney. Obviously the show is rigged. No one in their right mind would hire Whitney and her fat size 12 at least thighs. She's a real disgrace to the modeling agency.

I wish Anya every success.

I agree with the majority vote: the show jumped when Janice left. I mean, any reality TV show can stage catfights for the kind of tension viewers love, but nobody could drop bombs of criticism like Janice. She was far more interesting than that supercheesey drag queen judge. Nigel Barker was always pleasant and diplomatic, to balance things out. I liked Tyra but not Tyra-Mail, which always elicited the stupidest squeals of excitement. As far as the winners go, Eva Pigford was exquisite. Naima and Jaslene were beautiful, too, and I was happy they won. Nicole was pretty enough but had nothing special about her, and Danielle should not have won either. The judges had talked to her about how she needed to get help with elocution, but picked her anyway! She may have been a real trooper when she was sick, but you can't impress the upscale fashion industry with a projects dialect. The best thing about Top Model was the photo challenges: freezing water, Madagascar cockroaches,
elephant rides. The girls' reactions were unpredictable then, and they had to work extra hard to take believable pictures.
