I feel sorry for John Walsh. Instead of seeking therapy because of his son's death, he has spent his entire life chasing boogy men. Yes some of his work has been good, but much of it has not. His dogged fight to pass the Adam Walsh bill displayed this fact vividly. If John Walsh was really concerned about protecting childern he would have consulted law enforcement, treatment specialists, and yes even offenders. Had he done this, he would likely have not pushed for a bill that most experrts believe will do more harm than good in the long run. Instead he blindly pushed congress to pass this bill out of anger over his son's murder. If not for that, why else did he do it. Anyone who says it was to protect the children clearly has done no research whatsoever on the Adam Walsh and similar laws. They are mean and retroactively vindictive, and do nothing to solve the problem
I do remember those Saturday nights from the late 80's and early 90's that the previouse poster mention. "The Miami Thrilogy" Empty Nest, Golden Girls, Nurses and America's Most Wanted on Fox. Anyway What in the Blue Hell is going on in Mexico???!!! It seems that every if not 75% of the criminals on the show are Mexican residents or foreign. Each story ends with they're probably headed to Mexico or already in Mexico. I will everyday for Mexico. This show can't jts. I also miss the horrible acting from the 80's epsiodes. Ah I remember staying up for SNL and WWF wrestling.
America's Most Wanted is the only reason Saturday Night Television still exists. The rest of the networks are littered with reruns, specials, TV movies and the occasional sporting event. Even reality fare such as Survivor or American Idol doesn't dare to tread Saturday.

BTW--Whatever happened to the time when Saturday television had competitive programming such as Golden Girls and Empty Nest? Those days are long over, sad to say. AMW, along with Cops and MAD TV, are all that's left.
Hey AMW, I gotta say that March 8, 2008 ep was very good. I really liked it. U brought back a lot of filmilar faces and old cases like Waqas Rehman, Dominic Lyde, Derrick Benjamin, & Terrence Washington. Hopefully you will catch all of them. U also kept Michelle Sigona at a minial which I liked. No disrespect to her its just that when she did the Nai Yin Xue case the previous week I was really erked about it because this is a big case and she tends to boring when she corrsponds. She did not carry it very well. But on Mar 8, U let her do the breaking news on the two college cases. That is what she should be used 4 IMO. Also IMAO Angeline Hartmann should have been the one to work on the Alexis Flores case because she works with a lot of child vitim cases and I thought she would have been the perfect correspondent to go after Alexis Flores. BTW Im suprised that JW named him #10 on his Top Ten List of 2007! Hes also on your Dirty Dozen list and JW hates guys who murder children, I really thought Flores would have made the top 3. Im a Big BIG fan of the yearly top 10 fugitive list! But anyway, what else was great on the March 8 episode was that I got to see a lot of the senior corespondents again like Tom Morris, Jr., Ed Miller, and John Turchin. Guys I haven't seen on the show for awhile. Hopefully AMW will start using them more often. Good job AMW!
GET MICHELLE SIGONA OFF MY TELEVISION
SCREEN! She cannot correspond a case very well and its really erking me that the show is using her more often and giving her more of the bigger cases which IMO there are other correspondents who can do a 10X better job than she can? Please AMW, start using more of your others correspondents than her. Please!
How many more of you can possibly attack John Walsh? I have to defend him because I met the man, and talked to him for awhile. He's a good human being, with a kind heart. He genuinely is concerned for other people.

As for those of you saying that he used his son to obtain stardom ... what is wrong with you? He has turned his son's tragic death into the most positive thing he could -- a purpose for the kidnapping. It isn't like John Walsh used it to become a tabloid success. He became a HUGE advocate for crime victims. THEN Fox created the show AMW, and they asked him to be the host.

AMW is not his main job. He's the HOST. He spends an enormous amount of time lobbying for victims rights. He just recently got bills passed in his sons name, and is often talking to politicians and others about how to make this world a safer place.
Jumped? How can you ever tire of watching bad guys get what's coming to them?
No, it has not jumped the shark. He is willing to tell it like it is. He is also willing to call criminal defense lawyers to the mat when they pull despicable stunts and tactics in for the benefit of miscreants.
Do I feel bad that John Walsh's son got viciously kidnapped and murdered? Of course I do and I hope the creep who did it gets justice meted on him both in this world and the next.
Do I think the fact that John Walsh's son got murdered eliminates the right of everyone else to object to anything John Walsh says or does for the rest of his life? No, and I'm tired of him using that sad fact as a shield against any and all criticism the same way I'm tired of Cindy Sheehan using her son's dying in Iraq as a shield against even the slightest criticism . The loss of a child is horrible but if one is willing to dish stuff out, one should be ready to respond to criticism without tastelessly metaphorically exhuming one's child's corpse as a shield to attempt to silence all dissent and derail any opponent's arguments while skipping the effort to attempt logical counterpoints. I think that's rather cowardly and disrespectful to one's child's memory.
Yes, I think the show does a good service in helping to capture accused criminals but that doesn't mean I have to like it nor the host just due to the host's personal loss.
America's most wanted is the best thing that aired on tv it is very informative and this show is the best it is the real thing more people should watch it because you never know who your nieghbor is this needs to stay on and don't knock it
This show has never jumped the shark! This is more of a necessity than just viewing entertainment. The fact that this program has helped in the apprehension of as many fugitives as it has, or has helped in the safe return of missing people, this show should never go off the air! John Walsh is a great host, and he is speaking from his own personal, tragic experience. No one should knock him for doing a great job and a great service.
Yeah, I would like to say to those who criticize John Walsh, sure he can be blustery and over-the-top, but unlike CNN's Nancy Grace, Walsh never lied about how his son was murdered. And sure he calls criminals the same thing case-after-case and week-after-week, but that's exactly what they are. John Walsh represents the best of what America is about by not letting his grief destroy him or his family, despite him and Reve divorcing. You people who have the gall to criticize him have too much time on your hands.
AMW has never jumped the shark because John Walsh is helping the law and with our help catch the fugitives, the miscreants, the criminals, and the bad guys/gals and bring them to justice, getting them off the streets - over 950 captures and let's hope we can make it to or over 1,000 this/next season. I agree with a few of you posters that AMW is not for entertainment - this is for public safety and public service. AMW is one of my favorite TV shows and I watch it every time it is broadcasted on Fox. Let's hope AMW will continue for years in helping to get the criminals off the streets and out of our hair. This is definitely a good show.
This show has never jumped the shark it helps in getting criminals off the streets and Walsh does have a right to call those criminals the names that he calls them even though at times he does get over the top. I watch it everytime it comes on.
This show jumped the shark when it moved to Saturdays.
